Arbitration Process and Peer Review

The arbitration process is a systematized act carried out by the journal for the selection of articles and their corresponding revision. With this standard procedure, editors will be able to make decisions on various topics that are not in their area of expertise, so they have to turn to experts.

Peer review is an arbitration system that requires the scientific orientation and quality of the articles. It is in charge of experts specialized in the subject and who are at the same academic level as the authors.

Steps of the Arbitration Process:

  1. The arbitration process begins with the receipt of articles sent to the journal Investigación, Transcomplejidad y Ciencia (ITC) at the following link: nodotranscomplejo@gmail.com

  2. The Arbitration Committee has one week to notify the authors, by electronic communication, that the articles were received.

  3. During the two subsequent weeks, the first review is carried out, which consists of checking compliance with the editorial regulations.

  4. Once again the authors are notified confirming the first review of their articles.

  5. Proven that the articles complied with the canons of the ITC Magazine, in a period of two weeks, a second one is carried out. It is at this time that experts on the subject addressed by the author are assigned. For this purpose, the peer reviewers will make the decision of acceptance or not of the article.

  6. The authors are notified of the results of the peer review, making it clear that such correspondence does not ensure the final acceptance of their document for publication, unless the article is exempt from observations. In the event that the articles present observations, the authors are obliged to adjust it according to the recommendations given by the peer reviewers; and they must return it corrected within a period of two weeks upon receipt of that notification, to give rise to the Arbitration Committee acceptance of the article to be published.

  7. Once the articles are accepted, the Editorial Committee has four weeks to develop the correction and layout process.

  8. Once again, another notification will be sent to the authors, reporting the final result of the review; whether or not they have been accepted. Making clear, for those authors whose articles were not accepted, that if new corrections are made, they will no longer be received.

  9. The Editorial Committee will send, to the favored authors, the definitive format of their article to be published; at the same time it is made known that the ITC Magazine allows the total or partial reproduction of the published articles, provided that the source is expressly indicated. As of this communication, the authors have one week to confirm that they agree with what is described and accept the version presented to be published.

  10. During the following 10 weeks, the Editorial Committee will proceed to complete the legal procedures to make the publication effective on the internet.
